Mission, Practices, Vision, and Action
Holy Spirit Episcopal Young Adults

Our mission is to witness Good News of Christ with the world through our thoughts, words, and deeds.

Practices:

Discernment - In the midst of constantly changing lives, we discover our individual and communal vocations through prayer, study of Scripture, and each other

Service - We love others as Jesus loved us by serving others in our community at Holy Spirit and the wider world

Results of the Practices – A Vision for Holy Spirit Young Adults

Transformation - We envision changed lives from regular encounters with Christ through discernment and service

Leaders – We seek to develop leaders for Christ’s church

Community – We do all of this in the context of Christian community, “devoting ourselves to the apostles teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of the bread, and the prayers” (Acts 2:42).

Action Plan - how do we implement the mission and practices to accomplish the vision?

  1. Call for the Formation of a Young Adult Council
    1. The task of the Young Adult Council will be to begin to implement our practices of discernment and service, accomplishing our vision of creating leaders in the church
    2. The council will meet twice monthly and through prayer, the study of Scripture, and fellowship, will discern the future of Young Adult Ministry at Holy Spirit.
    3. Guided by the leadership of the Council, our young adults will meet regularly for meals, Bible studies, fellowship events, service projects, retreats, or other events
