Update on our Transition

Update on Rector Transition

It’s an exciting time of change here at Holy Spirit. In December, the vestry received training from the Diocese on the rector search process, and we recently reconvened to begin moving forward on the work that must be done before a rector Search Committee is commissioned.

During this time of transition, we need your help with two items:
1.    Attend Holy Spirit’s Visioning Event, Saturday, February 4 at 9 a.m. Who are we as a parish? What are our priorities and core values? How do we see ourselves changing over the years to come? Help us find answers to these very important questions during this three-hour session led by an expert from the Diocese. (Coffee served at 8:30 a.m.)
2.    Fill out a Parish Survey. What qualities do you want to see in our new rector? What ministries and programs should the rector spend his/her time and energy on? The survey, which will include questions on demographics, will be available online and via hard copy in late January.

The information we gather will guide our Search Committee during the search process and will form a key component of Holy Spirit’s new parish profile brochure, which will give prospective rectors a comprehensive look at who we are as a church community.

Once we have concluded the Visioning Event and Parish Survey, the vestry will begin accepting nominations for the Search Committee. The nomination period will last between two to three weeks. The vestry will then review the list of nominees and select the final committee.

Please know that your vestry is hard at work putting into motion all of these tasks that must be done before we can begin the search process. It’s a tried and true method followed by the Diocese and we believe, it will help us find a rector who truly embodies who we are as a church community. If you have any questions or would like to assist during this pre-search phase, please contact any of the vestry.

Holy Spirit is your church. We hope you will take advantage of the Visioning Event and Parish Survey and let your voice be heard.
