Kids On The Road
The Children's Ministries at Holy Spirit Episcopal Church 
exist to REACH out to kids,
CONNECT them to the body of Christ, help them GROW in their faith,
and challenge them to DISCOVER ministry and HONOR God with their lives.
Kids from preschool to 5th grade can't wait to be a part of the fun each Sunday morning from 9:15 to 10:15AM at the Gym as each month they explore a Biblical theme in one of many ways.more...
Note: 3 & 4 year olds meet in Room 102 near the nursery.
Infants and Toddlers
The Nursery is available for children aged 6 weeks to 4 years. Child care is available Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to noon and other times as requested.
We provide ways for children to participate at an age appropriate level. Everything we do with the children (from music and movement to the crafts) is based on scripture with an emphasis on it's relevance to their lives.
Children's Chapel
Children's Chapel is offered for children 4 years through 4th grade. Our Children's Chapel enables our children to worship with their peers through scriptural learning, praise in song, and prayer. Chapel is the place for multi-age group celebration of our faith and teachings of the traditions of the Episcopal Church as we walk through the church year together.
We follow an order of worship based on the Book of Common Prayer's model of the Communion service up to the point of the peace when children join their parents in the church service.
Older elementary age children (2nd – 5th graders) serve as Junior Acolytes. Children’s Chapel is offered during both the 10:30 a.m. Traditional and Contemporary Services.
Parents - Please let us know which service you will be attending so we can return your children to you at the Peace!
SafeGuarding God's Children
If every adult would protect one child, they could make a difference in one life and we could change the future for a generation. That is the premise of Safeguarding God’s Children—in a nutshell this training puts the power to protect into everyone’s hands. There will be four offerings of the class, Safeguarding God’s Children, this year held at Holy Spirit. For those who took the class in or before 2005 it is time to recertify. If you have questions regarding recertification or to pre-register for one of the following dates, please call KariAnn Lessner at 713.468.7796 x 201.

Compassion International Sponsored Child
In 2009, the offerings gathered in Children's Chapel will go to support Emmanuel, a seven year old boy from Togo in Eastern Africa. Emmanuel lives with his father and mother. He is responsible for gathering firwood, running errands and cleaning. There are 5 children in his family. Soccer, playing with marbles and running are Emmanuel's favorite activities. In primary school, his performance is above average and he also regularly attends church activities and Bible class. Please remember Emmanuel in your prayers - and when you send your child to Children's Chapel, remember that their offerings will make all the difference in his world!
