  Youth Confirmation Class

We will be offering a youth confirmation program for youth grades 6 - 12, beginning Sunday, March 25 and ending with confirmation on Sunday, May 20th. In lieu of a separate confirmation class to meet on Sunday mornings, youth will attend Sunday school on Sunday morning at 9:30 - 10:15a.m. with other Junior High and High School students. Please e-mail Sarah at youth@hsechurch.org if you would like to sign up or if you have any questions.

  Father Israel Bible Study at Holy Spirit

Fr. Israel will offer a Bible Study Class each Wednesday evening, beginning on May 9, 6:00 - 9:00
in the choir room.

Fr. Israel holds a PhD in Religion from Rice University and is an outstanding scholar of the Old
Testament. In addition to serving us at Holy Spirit he serves at Redeemer Episcopal Church and teaches at the University of Houston. Teaching is his passion and, in his words, he, "would ike to give it for the service of Christ and the blessing of his Church. I am convinced that the Lord has invested so much in me and sharing this gift with the congregation at Holy Spirit will be my way of returning the Lord's investment
in me.

The course will be an interactive form of study which will be relaxed but detailed. Students will be encouraged to ask questions they do not often ask. Fr. Israel will guide them in finding their answers in scripture, as he explains the linguistic, historical and cultural perspectives of the text and how it speaks to our present circumstances and needs

  United Thank Offering (UTO)

The United Thank Offering Ingathering will be held.  UTO was started in 1889 by the Episcopal Church Womaen and has continued to be a worldwide effort of the Episcopal Church to meet compelling human needs and to expand the mission and ministry of the church. EVERY cent collect goes toward this effort.

Envelopes will be in the Order of Worship leaflets May 12 and May 20, 2012.
